Anyone on here work in Oman?

Had an opportunity to work in Oman present it self. This would be the full expat. deal where I move the wife/kids etc. Part of me is interested, other part says no fawking chance.

Need an armed guard to leave the safety of the compound. Hard to spend the money you make if your pushing up daisies.

Few guys I work with went there in 2010 for a three year assignment and have since signed up for a second term. They say it is great and the taxes paid on expat status doesn't hurt either.
We have guys in Iraq on 28 day rotation from Calgary. Now that is a place you may get shot.They put the bullet proof vest on you when you get off the plane.

I used to work in Saudi and did not find any issue with it. You just need to be respectful and follow the law. I was supposed to go to Oman years ago but never did. I doubt I would be able to do full expat but a shift in Oman wouldn't scare me a bit
