700 re-build

Hello, just looking for information on re-building 2000 summit 700 motor or if it was posible to make it a 800. Needs new jug, pistons, rings and bearing bottom end.

cant use 800clys on a 700 bottom end. you can big bore your 700.

or find a complete 700 engine since it sounds like you need msot of it.

or you could put a 800HO motor in. it would just require differant clutching,gearing,carbs,computer system,exhaust system.

im in the same boat as you, need a new engine for my 02 700 summit.

new pistons rings and outer crank bearing are 1000 bucks. jugs are 400 a peice.... and a whole new short block is 1900 and you get 90 days waranty if u install it yourself, or one year if the dealer does it. basically if you need pistons AND jugs, new shortblock is the best way to go.

these prices were from my local dealer for all genuine BRP stuff.
