I am always interested to hear the "facts" on this website. Wondering what rumours are floating around regarding the delayed 2013 Ram 3500?

Still not available? $5 says they are going to call it the 2014 3500, because it's already late March 2013.

Lol. Well, I am wondering what the scoop is. 2013 2500s on the lot. No idea when the 3500 will be in. So is it a frame issue (2500 30ksi, 3500 50ksi) Is it the Aisin trans? But the Aisin has been in the C&C trucks for 5 years....

Can get G56, 68RFE or AISIN AS69RC HD in the 3500.

Urea shouldn't be any different than the C&Cs have been using for years, or the 2500s that are already on the lots?

Weird, for sure.

Sweet truck, I like the all white. Looks really clean.

The only thing holding me back from a 2012 is the tow ratings. I know that the truck will handle it, but we drag our trailer over a lot of ground, some places are less lenient than others. I am looking for a 3500 Mega Cab SRW. With a 2012 I can get a 16,400lb tow rating with 4.10 rear end. That just covers the trailer we currently have. However the rear axle is only rated for 6200lbs, which we are over.

For 2013 all diesel Ram SRW trucks are 3.42 gears. Definitely not my first choice. However, you can get the heavy duty Aisin AS69RC HD trans. Tow rating is 16,800, and rear axle is good for 7000lbs. DEF doesn't matter to me really, I think everybody has that fairly ironed out.

I would definitely go with a dually, currently have a 09 dually but waiting for the 13 want to upgrade to the the new tranny and improved HP and Torque. Too bad Dodge doesn't make the the mega cab in a long box that would be my truck of choice. Remove the box and put on a CM SK Truck Deck.

You can get it done in Salt Lake City there is a company there that does this. Check it out Dodge Mega Cab Long Beds 2012 : Truck Conversions : 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 : Dodge 3500 : Custom Dodge Trucks : Mega Cab Accessories : Precision Bodyline

*cough* dually *cough*

Mega Cab dually with Aisin AS69RC HD and 4.10s is rated to tow 25,000lbs! I agree that I am basically borderline with the new ratings, but I use this truck for work and a daily driver, aside from towing the trailers. Would rather not have a dually, if possible.

Are you no longer able to order whatever gear ratio that you want? I wish I had 3.42 in my truck instead of 3.73. Gear Vendors OD unit going in this summer.

For 2013, the diesels are only offered with 3.42 in the single rear wheel. If you go dually you can still get 3.42, 3.73 and 4.10s. I don't like it, but I think it is being done for fuel economy. Lots of SRW trucks on the road that are never being used to potential, so they might as well get better mpg!

I have heard of places doing this in the states but also heard that there are problems importing because the truck has been modified. Apparently there a cases where guys where bringing in a truck with a lift kit and had to return the truck to stock to bring across the border.

That's a bummer, but if they really took it up to 850ft/lbs you should have no trouble towing with it especially when your peak torque is at 1600rpm also not sure what the ratios are on the Aisin, that could be part of the reason also. My 2000 had the 3.42 ratio and I ran 35" tires on it, had motorhome injectors and a chip that put down 760 ft/lbs and 271Hp at the rear wheels at 1400rpm with a 5 speed manual and that thing pulled like an animal and got 15mpg doing it. Still sucks that you can't get what you want.

a friend of a friend appartenly got a 2500 limited for $55,000 new from the dealer and the dealer was going to take off all the epa stuff for him and was going to get CRAZY good fuel mileage.

had to let him down that two of my friends have the epa stuff off and it just helps a little bit, not adding 5-10 mpg or anything crazy just a noticeable power increase.

True story.
