Sled rolled and landed on bars, smashed what Polaris is calling the over-structure, its what the steering post is supported by, just wondering if this is common, it sheered off where the bolt holes are. Also it looks like a lot of disassembling of the sled before you can even work on it. I have all the parts coming just wondering if anyone has had to do this and if there is any info I should know before I start pulling it all apart. Cheers:beer::beer:

Mine broke twice last year and was warranties both times. It wasn't rolled and i figured it cracked going down the whooped out trails. Polaris looked at my sled saw no other damage and warrantied the part but if it was a roll over i dought they will warranty it i kept one of the broken ones and welded it up for a spare.

These sleds are sooo easy to work on. I can rebuild an top end in 3hrs with beer. Remove all side panels, seat, fuel tank and steering post in about 15 mins.

I just replaced one on my 12 the other day, snapped the cast piece right off on a real hard landing, when you replace it be careful not the bend the plate those to bolts are attached to by the foot well, I messed with it for an hour cause I got a little excited taking apart

i just did mine on fri rolled it on its bars and well you know over structure it was easy take all the plastics off and move the sea and gas tank back as far as they will go and make sure you put the rivets that are on the clutch side behind the belt cove before you do anything as you cant get them once the peice is in place.

I broke 2 on my 12 assault I think it was around 350 for the over structure. If I break it again going to tig up my own custom over structure. Then try and find the next week point.

Noticed my top over structure had a crack in it today but cannot think of any significant rolls other than getting unstuck in deepish snow. Doubt warranty will do much considering I'm running a turbo so wondering if anyone has had any luck welding something like this, even just to get through the season (I have zero experience welding so could be a dumb question)?

cant weld that cast aluminum, unless its jb weld lol. if you have a good dealer they will take picture to send to polaris that dont show the turbo in it, might get lucky considering the turbo doesnt have any effect on that part.

That's a easy weld with a high frequency tig. I successfully welded one on a 2012 after replacing it twice.... Still holding over 1000 miles on it now.

The 14's are worse, they went carbon fiber, mine grenaded after laying it on its side, I put the aluminum one from my 12 on it and ordered new aluminum for the old girl.
