I just bought a new 850xp and put 27" tires on it and on my second ride I blew the primary clutch in my bike it had 43km on it when it happend. I was just wondering if I should be thinking about a clutch upgrade wih these tires which I didn't think I should but I don't want to be stranded if there is an issue. They are fixing it under warranty but I just wanted to hear some opinions.

The 850 is the best clutched bike out there, you just got a defective one...........When the last time you hear of belts /clutchs having issues on here, hardly ever !! You could turn any 27 inch tire with the 850 forever..............No problem.

What Rzrgade said. The best aftermarket clutches for other brands are modified Polaris clutches. Get yours warrantied and giv'er.

I,ve got 1300 miles on my 2009 850XP all running 30" Mudzillas. Stock clutch and original belt still. Never an issue. I always, always run low range in skeg...........even if the ground is soft or low speeds. You can run 25mph in low range which is usually more than faster enough when muddin.

I run 28" zillas on my 550 with a stock clutch with no problems. But same as said earlier just use low in questionable areas.

Ran stock clutching on my 09 for about 700km with 31 outlaws. Not a single problem. Would spin them all day.
