Have a 2008/600 rev with a 144. I feel a 151" track under it would be a perfect fit for me. Does anyone out there have any experience with this swap? Looking for advise pros/cons. Is it a big job? This will be my summer project if its do-able.
Thx in advance.

I own an 08 rev Summit 600 HO SDI and even though a 151" track would be nice to have, I don't think the 600 is enough to power it in the steep and deep. Punch that motor out to a 700 and then you'll have something.

The rear skid axle would have to move back 3.5" so you'd need either new rails, install rail extensions or do a combination skid setback + big wheel kit. Probably a tunnel extension as well or it will eat the snowflap and not cool properly. I'd gear it down too especially with smaller motor and like AK mentioned it won't be a hotrod. Geared properly I would think it would still OK as long as you realize you're trading some trackspeed for increased floatation.

Rail extensions $150, used 151" track $350, or longer all good, The 600 will have lots of power, you wouldn't notice a difference, you won't have to change a thing for clutching and gearing, there geared down lower tehn teh 800 already. It will float better in the deep stuff and go alot farther. well worth it. Get a hold of Terra Alps Racing if you need rail extensions they can probebly hook you up with a tarck, or just look on classifieds here or call all the dealers in your area.

If you are going to the trouble... change the drivers, a set of 151 rails and a big wheel kit and run a newer 154 ported track. Lots think these tracks are crap but they are not. I did the exact
same thing to my Son's 144 800 and what a diff. Takes a lot less power to turn the track over

I had a 04 rev 600ho 144.

Bought a wrecked 07 800r 151 x 2.33 chassis.
Put the track and skid in first. Huge Diffy

Geared it 19/47 and pulled hard. Had to use the 9 tooth drivers shaft from the 07

I have a complete 151" skid from an 06 summit x package that I am selling. It has the whole deal minus the rear axle if your interested. It has low miles on it and hs rebuildable shocks still left into it. Let it go for 300. pm me on here if your interested.
