01 Rubicon grinding?

Hey guys! How has the summer treated everyone? I have an issue with my Rubicon. It seems to Grind and not wanna go into D. Once and a while it will work but then will kick out of gear! All other guys seem to work just fine too. Wondering if anyone would know/had the same issue?? Thanks guys!!

change the oil check for chunks of metal ( i don't think there will be )
is the battery good and the connections
the problem is electrical you need a troubleshooting manual

mine used to do this in reverse. Turned out to be just a bunch of mud and dirt caked up on the shift linkage. Cleaned it up no issues since.
