We just ported over our mortgage straight across. Sold my house in Calgary and bought one up here for a little less. Didn't affect our mortgage at all. It can be done.

Was a life changing move as well. Quality of life is way better for us and the child...soon to be children...even if it delays your retirement by a year or 2

I agree but some different strokes… my current mortgage is 200k and the acreage we’d want is 6-700k. Although we’d have 300k equity in the primary residence…. That new mortgage is going to delay retirement by more than a year or two buddy. Then a guys gotta get all the acreage maintenance stuff…

Staying in the old bungalow for now. But I’m out of room to park ch!t.

That’s where I’m at lol, no more room, keep having to sell stuff when I buy stuff haha, had to get rid of my enclosed and my open deck trailer already as I have nowhere to put them anymore. I wanna retire or semi retire in about 20 years when I turn 60, so kind of getting to a point where if I don’t get an acreage soon it won’t happen.

You only have one life to live, and you never know when your going to expire. Hopefully we are around and healthy for a while yet. I have an acreage 25 min west on yellowhead from Edmonton, 3 acres. Way different than living in the city, so much better than living in the city. This lifestyle is certainly good for your wellbeing and worth every penny..

Are those the cuts that are stupid pricey? Went to a fancy steakhouse in Calgary where they brought out a big wooden cutting board to show you the different steaks they cook. There was as a Japanese steak worth like $250. That sounds familiar

Yeah Wagyu is a special Japanese cow. And they are more expensive.

Usually do a bunch every fall with a smoke tube off of amazon. Smoked butter is good on a lot of stuff

What bank and whats the interest rate. TD has a 3 year fixed for 5.6ish and your payment would be around $1650 on $240,000 on a 20 year.
