Hey guys, I thought I would start a thread to figure out what everyone is running for fuel in their sleds. If we include things like:

Type of fuel
Blend Ratio (if any)
Lower Octane Blend fuel
Cost of Fuel
Boost and Compression Ratio (stock head, Par, RKTek, etc)
Riding Elevation
Issues Encountered (with current or previous fuels)
Fuels you might try

Here I will start:

VP C-111 at 35% with 65% Shell V-Power 91 non-ethanol
Paid $4.00/liter for my last 5 gallon pail.
Running 7lbs of boost at 2000ft on stock head.
I currently haven't had any issues, but hit DET when running 25% C-111 to 75% 91 V-Power.
I also have a pail of both C-12 and C-14 that I would like to try, although I think C-14 might be overkill.

I like the idea of burning a little bit of strong race. I just picked up some Fury 120 (120.3 octane in all types of rating) for $3.81 per L if I'm going to be hauling fuel around I want to haul the least amount possible. I'm not sure on how much of this 120 I will need to mix in for my desired boost. I will post my ratios once I figure out what is safe.

75/25 AV Gas - Non Eth Pump Prem

12.0:1 Turbo Domes on PAR Head

8 Lbs Boost

$1.65L Certified Fresh Aviation Fuel

Have tried cutting down to 50/50 blend and was safe up to 8lbs in elevation but I get AV cheap and like the extra protection in the lower elevations. So going back to 75% AV blend and going to add a small amount of decalin? To help break up the lead content. Also mixing in a couple good glugs of dominator race oil by AMSOIL each tank

I should also add my grandfather has a 2013 pro with boondockers kit with intercooler and he is running 50/50 av gas and c12 and 13lbs of boost

Straight Av on 12 lb on the 2012 pro, boondocker set up and all installed and tuned, ported by Linderman. This thing rips! I came off of M1000 at 300 Hp but soo heavy. This thing is amazing with boost! I'm glad I went back to Polaris! Can't wait to burn fuel in Valemount tomorrow!

10-12 lbs boost, between 3000-8500'
Straight $1.83/l AV gas. to lazy to mix. LOL

I'm assuming you get your avgas at the airport in GP?

40lbs boost straight diesel. Putting out 600hp.....lol

Hmm, never thought of that, diesel is definitely cheaper than race fuel, not sure the 2860 would take 40lbs though. JK
Cummins I'm assuming?

On a more serious note, is there a reason most people use avgas other than cost?

I run straight av, bought from shell at the gp airport.
10lbs boost. 4-6000ft.
I run straight av simply for piece of mind. Never had any issues with Det, and I know the fuel is consistent octane. I also run the stock head. With the mntek fix kit.

Do they sell by the liter, or by the drum?

I've been told race fuel is better than avgas (supposedly avgas burns drier?), but since so many run it I will have to pick up some and give it a try.

How do you like the mtntk fix kit? As I currently have one on order as well as a PAR 12:1 head.

Av gas doesn't burn dryer.. What you get in nothin lower then 100 octane, but I. Reality I will very from 100-112 octane. It kind of a swamp mix. If you set up an account with Basset fuels in Sherwood park you can get av for 1.52/l by the drum. Or do like I do and get it from my neighbour farmer with spray planes.. Actual cost on av is 1.36/l. So getting good fuel for cost of premium. And wouldn't that be great to put a lil cummins in line 2 turbo in a sled!!! Hahaha. I love diesel HP!!

Yes, I buy it by the litre. Av is also higher in lead I believe. And low in sulphur. Sulphur is what lubes the injectors, etc... So I add add a dab of oil to every tank. Prolongs the life of the fuel system.
The mntek kit works really good. I've got about 50 or so miles on it. Runs crisp.
