I thought this was supposed to be a thread about people with no issues. I have a G4 154 with 49% left and have had no issues. Last ride was 3ft of powder at 7200ft. and this thing ran 7900 RPM all day and ran beautifully, best sled I have ever had. You want to talk about issues, I unlinked the...
I was out with my 154 3" 850 and my buddy had his 2011 M8 162 2.5". when the day was done I put in 16 litres and he had to add 20. all things were equal in what we were doing and where riding. I'm still in break in mode so I was quite surprised.
I ordered a new G4 154 with the 3 inch track and 3.5 pitch. Coming off a Cat I was concerned about track stabbing so I had a good talk with the local doo dealer and he felt the opening weren't wide enough to allow the rails to go through the track.....
When the fuel pump/regulator go the fuel pressure goes too high and loads up the machine at idle and bottom end. I would check fuel pressure and see if the pressure is out of spec (42-47 PSIG) One can just replace the regulator with one from BDX, Cat wants to replace pump and reg.
If it is an oil issue and you're sure the banjo fittings and check valves are the issue, you could always do an oil delete for about $40.00. Don't get lost on the oil on/in the throttle bodies or air intake as that is normal. Usually if the banjo bolts are loose you will see a leak.
This summer I picked up a new set of injectors and had one that would not work properly. The Cat dealer I got them from said it was a common problem and that the solution was to take a 12V battery and briefly touch the injector terminals and listen for a "click". He said that they see many sleds...
I've been running a Speedwerx pipe and Y pipe for 4 years now on my 09HCR and really like it, Speedwerx even welded in the AFR/auto-tune bunge for me and then ceramic coated the pipe (I run an MBRP can). I have had Speedwerx port my cylinders, and now I have a 925 BB kit from Speedwerx in my...
I sent my shocks to Andy at GSR, for $80.00 he shortened them. I ended up with Z-bros A-arms and yes I needed to drill the lower arm to take the larger bolt....very nice A-arm kit.
I have 4,000 miles on my topend and will be rebuilding this year. One of the guys I ride with has 8,000 miles on his bottom end, and 2 others have 6,000 miles on theirs with no issues...in fact one has 6,000 miles on both top and bottom ends. All of these are M8s.... 2-09 and 2-10. and yes I am...
There are a few things to look at:
-Reeds, ( usually a bottom end, low RPM issue)
-dirty injector,
-plugs, leads, plug caps, coils, (I had my spark plug leads wearing through and did this, thought it was the plugs until I looked at the leads closely and discovered they were rubbing against...
