Gas Pot, Remote Start.

I have done my searching/back reading on this topic.

What I am looking for hopefully, is that someone here (in Calgary) does remote starters on the side?
I'm getting a 2014 GM 1/2 ton truck next Tuesday, and looking for a basic starter. I have called 4 place's and know what the average is, for a aftermarket starter. I will be calling GM tomorrow, to see what a Factory one is worth?

the factory one is great,,turns on your heater or AC (depending on temp outside) and the rear defrost and mirrors .but the range of it isnt the greatest.

OEm starters are nice but the range is crappy....you can pee farther into a strong breeze !!!!

A guy I work with had a factory one done in a 12 or 13 and was around 300-400$

I know a few guy's that have factory starters at work, and they pretty much have to walk up to their trucks to start them with the remote

This is why I would prefer to put some cash, in someone's pocket.

I thought I did that wrong..... So your OEM starter will start your truck 300 feet away?

I know where your office is, and where you park your truck. I'd be happy with that range

I went with the factory remote in my f-150 - same as above, fairly short distance, but it's nice to be able to program it through the dash controls. Distance is pretty good on fresh batteries though.

I have a CompuStar in my 07 Chev classic, which is being replaced with the 14. And I can not swap it out, great starter though!!!

I have a Viper 2-way page back in my 05 Ford, and it eats a AAA battery once a month.

I'm going to have to see, if I can upgrade a Factory for range? I like the idea of brainless setting's, even though I usually am prepared. My first starter was in my 05 Dodge 1/2 ton, LOL

ya it will turn on the AC in summer or heat in winter,,and defrost and mirrors,,and the fan speeds up as the engine gets warmer,so the fan isnt blowing right off the bat when it fires

That's pretty cool!!! The CompuStar or Viper will NOT do that.
