All I. Good fun. Little bouncy seems to have a massive chip on his shoulder so it's fun to prod him once in a while.

I wouldn't have said anything if he hadn't replied to fernisnows joke so smugly. Doug's comment was obviously meant in good fun. Yes I think safety equipment is a good idea. I think most people do

Watch. There is no way he will be able to resist replying.

Yah he missed Fernies joke.

Enjoy your new saw,,,,They are all good until it does not start. Lol

Not that a person would buy this for home. But we run these at work. Ridiculous what we cut with it.

Ill go next week to Lawnmower hospital on the south side and pick up a Husky 550XP II, just have to pick the bar 16 or 18

On sale for a bit good price.

18" is probably a good compromise. My 550XP MKII sports a 20", it's a little long, but I cut down a huge dead pine last winter for firewood that needed every inch of it, got 2 cords out of that tree.

Unless your only cutting small stuff I think 16" would be too short.

It's amazing how much of a difference a little more bar makes. I put a 20" on my rancher because I was falling some really big trees. Stock bar was an 18. Saw definitely doesn't have enough power for the 20.

Im a big fan of the 16”bar with a bigger tooth Oregon chain, especially cutting firewood. It Cuts way faster, I have a 18” for my Stihl but didn’t care for it as much, It could of been the stihl chain I had for the 18”.

The 550XP MKII is a little different than the rancher. The XP runs 0.325" pitch chain where the Rancher runs 3/8". With the XP having more power than the Rancher it pulls the smaller 0.325" chain on a 20" bar quite well. For me it's a toss up, an 18" would probably cut a little faster, but I also like the length of the 20" for limbing, that much less bending over. But with only a few exceptions I'd get by just fine with an 18" bar. I bought the 20" solely because that's what was ready to go on the shelf the day I bought mine.

Probably not the best way to do it.

But I use this camping to sharpen my chain each use.

Surprising how much better it cuts sharp

Ordered the 550XP Mark II from the lawnmower hospital. Won’t be in till late November. Has several features the homeowner says don’t have. This is a professional model with magnesium chaincase has a computer that controls some features of the carb. Has smaller CC motor, 50cc was puts out more power than the regular model saws. He says the pro series saws don’t usually go on sale. A lot smaller saw than the 455 but it rips

Smaller cc than 455 but way more power.

The autotune carb is awesome when it runs right. Be careful running a dull chain, the carb tunes based on rpm at full load to set the mixture, a dull chain seems to screw up the tuning, as it doesn't pull the same load on the saw.

Mix your oil accurately or it will give you issues as well.
