I have an 09 XP 800 154. It has 3600kms on it. Should I rebuild the top end? I know on the 06 and older sleds the pin that holds the rings from turning would push in after about 4000 plus km. Did they fix this or is it still a comcern?

If I were you, I'd get 'er done. My '09 chit the bed at 2441 miles, lost a connecting rod bearing and took out the top end when it finally let go.Went the big bore option. Pistons and gaskets are cheap in comparison let me tell ya. Check your crank run out.

mine is getting done as we speak, it has 3200 miles. the pistons and jugs were good, crank run out was fine but decided to check the crank anyway. good thing i guess, the mag side crank bearing was starting to turn rough who knows how long it would have lasted. so put it a rktec drop in kit and head.

Ok so any opinions on piston choice. I was thinking of trying the SPI?

4000 km's is about the limit on an average Rotax engine, good idea to rebuild the top end
