If you have a "11" 2500hd or newer you won't be over unless your toyhauler is an old one. The new 2500hd's can tow more than the 2010 and under 1 tons.

For most toy haulers in that 38-40ft range will require a dually long box to accept the at type of pin weight. The 11 and ups do have more weight for sure. But a short box does not have that kind of GVW legally. I towed my Raptor and Cyclone with a 04 Dodge 2500 for years in Idaho and Montana and BC for that matter.

Eg: Truck 7500+pin 3500+fuel 250+family 600=11850lbs

2012 Chev 2500HD SB is 9500 GVW
2012 Chev 2500HD LB is 9900 GVW
2012 Chev 3500HD SB is 10800 GVW
2012 Chev 3500HD LB is 11000 GVW

BC is the stickiest if you get caught. They check all weights on the door post. I was over GVW by 2000lbs and axle by 800 on my Dodge. Never got pulled though. Alberta only cares about tire weight. Having said that if you wreck or hurt someone the lawyers will most likely have a field day and take you to the cleaners. I thought long and hard about that and the safety of my family and decided to buy a dually long box 3500. Mine is a 2006 and is still on the edge of legality depending on how I load he trailer.

BC gives no latitude for things like airbags, exhaust brakes, towing tires, 3rd axle etc. All they see is a number and most RCMP (the ones who enforce those laws in BC) peeps don't understand the first thing about towing weights and the construction of these trucks. That's my opinion of course lol.

GCWR and Max trailer weight (trailer or 5th wheel) are not legislated in BC or Alberta according to both DOT's. Alberta only cares about tire weight, they realize guys in AB know how to make their trucks safer. I was told by the man in charge if you look unsafe in AB you will get pulled over and told to do something about it. Probably not going to get fined unless your a @sshole LOL.

Could you imagine how many trucks and trailers would be stiing at scales if they all had to stop and be weighed....

For the safety of your family and the other families onthe road, buy a bigger truck or down size the trailer.....

Easy for me to say and yes I have been in your situation before and was overweight,so what has changed over the years....like some others have said, the mood of thecourts/lawyers to sue and the mood of insurance companies to find a reason notto cover you....

"The average law suit for a serious injury accident ie paraplegic or quadriplegicis 1.2 mil, that’s a big gamble to take just because.

not sure what Z400 is dragging. mine is a tandem axle with the number 365WTB which i assumed to mean 36 and a half feet. measured from tip to tail it's 39 and a half feet. dry weight 10,100 lbs. the Tahoe brand are supposed to be the lightest for their size, my pin weight is under 2500 lbs. dunno what to tell you Tex, I've crunched the numbers and dragged it across 2 different scales and I'm good to go.

Ok Ur is lighter then if its 2 axles. Are they 8 bolt or 6 bolt on Ur trailer.
Do u have any slides ??? Or extra fuel tanks ??
Mabe u only have a 75-100 gal water tank.
My trailer has 3 axles , is 10000 dry , 200 gal water tank ( which when full is 1850 lbs alone ) has a 2500 ish tongue weight and has a gvwr of 16500.

With the trailer on and this was coming back from camping so has water in all tanks on the rear axle was just shy of 6200 lbs.

Ur truck has a 6084 rear axle gvw.

The bigger trailers like weekend warriors and cyclones are at least 12000 to 13000 dry with 3000 plus hitch weight.

U doo the ###'s
