The "Lock Condom"

Ok it's not really a product for the general public....But....if your like me and have an open trailer, you risk arriving at your destination with locks all frozen up from salt water freezing the lock shut....then my Lovely Wife may have come up with the solution.
----- LOCK CONDOMS -------
Some water repellent material and Velcro and she is sewing up covers for my locks.
My last trip to Valemont I installed new locks, by the time I got home (rain, slush, salt and then cold weather) my locks wouldn't work at all. I took them back to the locksmith and he showed me the tumblers, the salt chews the crap outta of the inside of the lock after just one trip.
So I'm off to Golden this weekend and I'll find out if it actually works.

Yup. Don't travel with them on. Install them when you get to where your going

Hmm curious to see if they work... Easiest is leave em off while travelling. On my enclosed, I have the little covers that cover the keyhole when snapped into place, and never a problem

That's a good idea, but like mike said, we also remove the locks when traveling, and put them on when we park.

I've got got a similar product for my cold air intake for the turbo. I like to leave stuff locked up all all the time. For one I would forget, and two, I've had friends who had stuff go missing while in a restaurant or in a store.

My wife made me a set for our enclosed trailer a couple years ago, they work well, tried Velcro, went to a draw string, when the Velcro gets grimy they weren't staying on, and the draw string has a loop you can put on the lock shank, had a bit of trouble opening one from time to time, if they get covered with smutch then freeze, put over all still like them....

I like having the locks on while driving, buddy stopped for fuel and had a guy open and grab a gear bag and arriving late at night, were locked already......
