Speedometer quit

Hi,

I have a 2004 Sportsman 500. For a time, the speedo would work intermittently but now has quit all together. All wires and the sensor seem to be in place and not damaged. Any tests that I can try?

the speed sensor is probably shot. it is a black sensor mounted on the front right brake rotor. it is a farely common part to crap out. if i remember right it is a farely cheap part and is easy to replace.

Thanks, that helps me too, as my 2000 speedo died too.... I suspected that sensor, but haven't had time to test it yet, as i can see it has already been replaced once. Thanks again.
