Welcome to the community. There is definately no shortage of people to ride with around here and most of the people on this site are friendly and helpful.

While Redwater is proably one of the closest areas to ride, there are plenty of others within a reasonable drive. Here are a few:

Bruderheim (45 min away)
- sand dunes, mud, skeg, creek
Long Island Lake just north of Westlock (1h 20m away)
- sand hills, mud, skeg
Vega (2h 15m away, 1:45 when the fairy is open) north of Barrhead, east of FT Assinaboin
- scenic in spots, has everything also
BonAccord (40min away)
- gravel pit with sand hills, trails, and some skeggy cut lines
Iron Horse, stage from Smokey Lake (1h 30m away)
- railway line, very scenic between smoky and Bellis, small rec area near Bellis

You can look up all these places in the Favorite riding areas forum. Here is link to a thread where you can find a whack of staging areas: https://www.snowandmud.com/forum/f483/google-map-staging-coordinates-alberta-34933.html#post928243

Also, check you the Rallies and Events Forum. This is a great way to find new areas and meet other riders.
