Love mine, put a can on it to loose a little weight and pick up some sound. Lots of power, very nimble. Me and a friend trade machines for a few miles, I rode his XP, he rode my Dragon. Hands down, the Dragon is a more nimble machine. Power seems fairly close, but handling is in a different ballpark.

The brochure says 487 lbs dry, so tack on 11.5 gallons of gas, not sure of coolant and oil capacity, but I would guess it would be around 550 lbs wet. Will have to have a look in the manual tonight to get the other capacities and figure out for sure what it weighs wet.

I rode a 800 Dragon and it felt good. The handling, power and comfort worked for me. The things I didn`t like was the seat was to slippery, you can feel the weight if it tips over. I had a hard time getting it back on its track, compared to the XP. The dragon felt to tippy when turning and cornering, but that could be something that just needs some getting use to or the extra weight.

I bought an 08 Dragon 800 163" this year. Overall I'm happy with the ridability. Not happy with the WE shocks, the water and snow in the airbox, the ratcheting track on the downhill. We were in Valemount 10 days ago and the XP 154" that I rented for some one else beat the Dragon by 30 feet easily. The next pull I made was another 15 feet higher and they're both stock machines. That was very surprising. Of course the M1000 wasted both machines....and it should.
The Dragon is the best handling sled I've ever been on...if that counts for anything.

my 2 cents. O

Good feedback & honest... Did you ride both??? You were the one that beat your mark?

***Edit
I wonder if there something wrong with the track.... I heard on other sites that the Dragon is out climbing the XP..

I rode my buddy's Dragon 8 with the 163 in december, it was crazy nimble. went to throw it over for a carve and the thing almost did a 180 within it's own length. the only thing I disliked was the humped seat, it was hard to ride with a knee on it while 'docking around the trees. the material seems very slippery. power wise it pulled great, throttle pull was incredibly easy. nice sled, we were riding in 4-5 feet of powder all day and it had no issues.
