There's not really much for rentals you can try Ken's Marine or Kickstart Motorsports. Sometimes they rent used stock if they have any.

There's riding in every direction...all these within an 45mins and most are pretty sweet.

East - Flint, Trapper, Copper, and lots of riding in Hazelton and Smithers if you keep going east
South - Williams Creek, Gunsight, Bolton, Hirsch (Kitimat), Claque (Kitimat), Robson (Kitimat), Green (Kitimat)
North - South Douglas, Big Cedar, North Douglas, Anweiler, Sterling, and some others
West - Sleeping Beauty

Sterling and South Douglas probably the main 2 areas for Terrace and Robson and Claque in Kitimat. These 4 have cabins and decently marked trails. Sterling or Claque probably your best bet if going out with the GF (if she's a rookie) and new to the area. I'm probably riding this weekend you're free to tag along if you're here.

Sterling is easy to find. Head north on Nisga'a Hwy. 67km. Parking lot is on the right. It will be plowed and trail is obvious from there. Good year to come...lots of snow. Pic is first cabin at Sterling 2 weeks ago. 2nd Cabin probably a bump in the snow.
