I got back on Sunday and had a great time .Here are a few of my many photos I took in our 2 days and 240K's of exploring
First pics are up Rady, second set is at 29K mark[it must be Foggy Day]That bridge is on the west side of trout lake from the beach campground.Next time I will go late aug so I can go higher on rady crk.I would like to do american crk rd at the far end of trout lk as well as ferguson next time around.I also went as far as I could on the gerrard side on west trout lk rd biut it dead ends into another valley at about 4500'.Where are the best old mines at?Great pics! Looks like you made it up the Foggy Day and Rady, was the last pic of the bridge up American Ck? I'm surprised you made it to that high this time of year, that place gets a lot of snow.
Next time up hit Healy ck, anywhere past Ferguson (True Fissure, Nettie L and Triune are all worth it), and the Fish river to Teddy glacier and up Pool/Mohawk ck. I could spend a month straight up that way and not get bored.

Thanks for the info regarding Healy creek.I made my second trip up to trout lk in the past 2 weeks. This time I did American crk and Healy. The mine with the tracks was still snowed in,but I managed too climb down between the rock face and snow to get in.The mine was full of water ,about 2' deep so I only was able to get in about 6'.Amazing scenery up there and snow kept me from getting all the way around the Right side [going up].The trail on the bottom after all the bridges is a little dicy as the hill has caved onto the road leaving a narrow quad path.Very grown in around the old camp also. The teddy glacier outside of Beaton is next on my list.Keep the ideas coming.I like that eveything is open unlike here in the Okanagan were they either gate it or make a Park out of it and denie you acessMid to late Aug is definitely best as snow can stick around up there a long time. We haven't found too many open mines around Trout lake, lots that are collapsed. There's a steam engine at the Nettie L, Triune has an open adit that goes in a few hundred feet, a couple up True fissure are open but not too stable, Teddy Glacier mine was open but I see they've done some exploration up there last couple years - same with the Spider mine up Pool ck, the Abbot mine up Healy ck was open about 4 years ago but I heard the trail in that basin was sluffed too badly since then to quad in - could still walk the short distance to the mine I think, Wagner mine top of Healy has an open adit above the glacier. All the trail up high are worth it even if you don't get to go underground, amazing riding up there.
Its a memorial to Alice Jowett, a long time pioneer of the area. She had many claims staked in the area as well as she owned the Windsor Hotel in Trout lk for many years. Her ashes are inside it .Its in a remote hard too find location high on the hills above trout lk.I found it by accident and don't really want to divulge its location as some jerks may vandalize itWhat is this monument/memorial about?? I can't quite make out what it says... and where is it??

It looks too me they are just cutting the water boards in,and calling it deactivated. The bottom about 5k,s up is worse with the landslides. They would have to fix that section just to get a backhoe in there. It was sketchy driving my rhino thru there on the aug long weekendTheres a forestry sign on healy Cr saying as of sept 20 2010 there deactivating all the roads to limit access past the old camp.
