Hello all - going camping this weekend at Freeman River for the first time - super excited to quad for the first time this year. I do not know where the trails and such are. Would prefer to go straight from the campsite if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks

I don't know for sure about quadding right in and around Ft. Assinaboine, but if you continue heading North-East on Hwy 661, you will hit the Timeu Creek Rec area (commonly referred to as Vega). It is just on the west side of the Ferry crossing and on the North side of 661. If you cross the Ferry, you've passed it. Be careful to stay off the south side of 661 since this is a protected area and off limits to OHV use.

you can also quad at the "centre of Alberta" there is a marker there showing where the exact center of Alberta is.

Is there spots to set up camp in this area? Just bought a trailer and plan on heading that way and trying out the area. Been riding for years but mostly just around home area and and the odd trip to Big Horn, Cadomin and Brule. Any help on a spot to park would be greatly appreciated.

You can camp at Trapper Lea's or at Freeman River campgrounds. From Trapper Lea's there are a ton of trails that you can quad to. If you are coming up this way, let us know. That's our playground and we are out in the area almost every weekend. We'd happily hook up with you one day and show you what we know!
