This will be a great project for Valemount and I am very excited to see some earth start moving.

There is a new article in the Valley Sentinel yesterday regarding the project and there search for main commercial renter.

I have always had faith that this wonderful little town will be a great place to raise my family and we NEED projects and developments like this to continue or we are in trouble.......

Thank you SAAS FEE for seeing what I do in our community !

Looking forward to seeing dirt fly this spring

They changed the design and eliminated the covered parking and added extra exits on each side for parking. In addition, they purchased another vacant lot to the East for a parking lot....or so I'm told. Good question though.

They haven't shown me final pricing yet, as they say it's tied to design and financing. The disclosure package is still being completed

As for that lot, if it's the one I'm thinking of, they are holding it for a complimentary business, but it is not finalized yet. They will put a restaurant or some other fast food place depending on what they feel will fit. They may be holding off to finalize who the commercial units will be in the development first.

Ahhh, that's not the one I was thinking about. I'm not sure what's going on there, but I'll find out and post it. I know that Saas Fee and one other developer are ready to start three different projects, but the other one is supposed to be east of the water treatment plant. I wonder if the lot you're talking about has been purchased recently? There was a developer that had a big plan for two 10 acre lakes and town houses but he had to shut down the project due to health reasons. Perhaps that's it? I'll let you know.

Ya thats the one i was talking about.

Iam am skeptacle on the viability of any development in valemont with out an acompaning draw of some sort, such as a ski hill or some other venue to bring people to town, snowmobiling wont cut it.
there are parts of me that would like to see growth and development as i own property there but on the other hand i like it the way it is. I wouldn"t want it to become another jasper or banff

Any idea why it was put on hold?

Where is your property? I have a vacant lot there that I am looking at developing this year. If you have any connections with trades in the area I would be interested in getting some contact numbers.

MrMorgan.

I guess a casino might be a large enough draw to sustain the development. Iam not to sure though whether or not it would do much for the rest of the community as casinos tend to be extreamly self serving enterprises. Are there any other examples of ventures of a similar nature in the central interior.

isnt that usually part of getting the casino licenece is that they have to give something back to the community

like they can donate for trail upgrades and grooming !!!!!!!

Part of their plan related to the casino is there is bus loads of Koreans that come every summer.
They love to gamble.
