So oil patch workers who made 100k and more a year with no education for years and live pay check to pay check go broke is the government's fault?
YES!!!!
Nothing will put more money in govt for their lavish spending than firing up oil and gas sector.
Not auto and not dairy.
The ongoing royalties and actually selling at world prices.
Libtards and NDP think Canada's input will lead the resT of the world.
We are a joke with our prancing loose eyebrow princess.....definatly not leaders.
People need to wake up for the next election.

One pipeline west.
One pipeline east.
One pipeline south.
Country would be out of debt 5 years after construction.
Or we can continue to erode our health and social programs in a much shorter time.
To many stupid people can't see the debt we are building.
Sorry but Canada saving the world might have to wait a bit. It is possible to continue developing green energy at the SAME FAWKEN TIME!
What has our international credit rating dropped to.....oh ya it will go up about the same time the budget balances itself.

NAFTA would be so much easier even for Libtards if this country would just smarten up.
Just need a leader with a pair to actually lead.
Does anybody ever give a thought to how many family breakdowns and divorces because of govt induced economic breakdown.
To all the govt employees with guaranteed pay protection and fat pensions - all 25% of you in Alberta....vote for what is right not yourself.

Man the next provincial and fed govts are gonna have a mess to clean up cause the money tree is almost plucked clean.

Unfortunately that spiteful narative from Liberals and Ndp is exactly what’s causing our economy to fall far short of its potential. People are so jealous of these workers you stereotyped that they would rather drag Canada down than embrace the hard work in developing Canada’s tremendous resource potential. When our governments main focus is weed legalization and social inclusion vs the economy we are in trouble for a long time to come.

Lot of hard workers in western Canada but there is also a lot of socialists who are jealous of the coin oil workers in Alberta and Saskatchewan make. I know more than a few folks that live in BC that live there more for the "quality of life" than making a ton of money yet are down on Albertan's with high paying oil jobs. Can't have it both ways but they don't get it.

Thats the quintessential attitude of the rest of Canada towards Alberta and the oil industry. We’re all stupid, overpaid and don’t deserve to be prosperous. Everyone else who has a business in the rest of Canada though is a superior being and we in Alberta exist to provide the rest of Canada with bargain priced fuel and billions of dollars in equalization payments so they can enjoy a lifestyle that they couldn’t pay for otherwise. History has shown that eastern Canada will, given the chance, suppress Alberta in particular and western Canada in general.

Guys do get wiped out when their marriages fall apart, for some reason the scales do not come anywhere close to favoring the males. I noticed pano-dude could not come up with any names.

Yowzers.
There is a narrow minded stereotypical comment if I ever saw one.

Maybe all the leaf licken pot smokin drooling idiots from BC can stay home and out of Alberta and leave the jobs for our skilled tradesmen and women on the next boom. I won't bother booking flights from Vancouver Kamloops or Kelowna again.
We'll still fly the thousands in from the east that have trade skills but you BC'ers can all stay home where you belong.

There, that is a deserving response for the piece of crap you wrote.

I work my as$ off for my hundred g. Long sh!itty days. Weeks away from the family stuck in some camp that feels like prison. I used to love the patch but BC and what seems like a lot of the rest of the country has made it not so enjoyable anymore. First time in my 20years of working that I don’t see a huge potential for the future. Maybe I can move full time to BC and suck the tit like a lot of your more useful citizens.

Well I just do not trust Trudeau to do a NAFTA deal, his morals are so screwed up. So far his out to lunch on the CBC, bombardier and Quebec, hopefully he has not put in some special deals for terrorist, because no way Trump will deal on that.

My comment was a general reference to snochuck statement of the government's fault for marriage breakups/ and Alberta oil workers financial issues.

Oil patch was in trouble before government's changed hands.

I have family who ran a oil service company handed down from father to son, company was in business 30 years. Father is a ticketed plumber, and fitter who over the years directed his kid to get his tickets but he didn't. Now there is no work for the company, oil field is shut down and the kid had to fold the business. Can't get work because he has no papers. He made buckets of money over the last 20 years but really has nothing to show for it.

Who's fault is this? Government for not keeping a 50 year old oil field running?

Smart guys in the patch diversed while things were good and expected the crash and they now continue making money.

Better look in the mirror with stereotypical comments.

Nobody in Alberta smokes weed right?

My comment is based on info I know first hand but you're just tossing out insults.

Did I say nobody deserves a 100k paycheck? No, I did not.
My point is oil patch workers have made big money for years, if some of those workers chose to piss it all away in trucks and boats or what ever it's not the government's fault.

You specifically mentioned "Alberta oil workers" financial issues. Funny , from what i see first hand in our oil patch is there sure seems to be a hell of a lot of "Alberta oil workers " who live in BC , but earn in Alberta. I also believe that without the terrible "oil patch" in Alberta and northern BC the province of BC would look a bit different and a lot of high end development would never have happened. A ton of that dirty money was invested straight into BC, and it seems to have been mismanaged just as bad as the money that stayed in Alberta. Really to bad there couldn't have been a better relationship between the 2 provinces, way to many unrealistic , hypocritical special interest groups unfortunately that somehow became relevant.

Yes you did say that, and i am sure a lot of other entitled people see it the same way (liberals). Walk a day in some ones shoes before you say the low education people do not deserve what they make.

The liberals have a great idea coming, revenue from gambling and drugs which used to be illegal is going to pay for 8 million people to sit on their ass and bitch about the oil workers wages. Maybe we could toss the people out of the nursing homes just laying around doing nothing and put their sorry asses to work as well. I cannot see this idea balancing it self.

I do appreciate the left wing comments that come across this largely right wing forum, helps me understanding how people think and how bozzos like Trudeau, Horgan, Notley etc get into power.
