Mechanical seal 1000 cat

I am in the process of replacing the mechanical seal and inner oil seal on my F1000. In the kit with the mechanical seal is a ceramic seal that from what I am being told presses into the impeller, the issue is that the seal at the back of the impeller is the same as the inner oil seal. Did they upgrade this seal, if so does the ceramic part go against the mechanical seal??

press rubber/ceramic into impellor so ceramic contacts the face of the seal that is mounted in block
