Can anyone tell me how far the deck can hang out the back end of a truck without having marker lights on the back end of the deck. And how far the sled can be past the end of the deck, without having any trouble from the law? Only haullin in Sask,Alta and B.C. Thanks

If you have a newer Marathon deck you should be all right, as they come standard with a row of three LED's in the rear middle of the deck. This indicates the rear of the deck and also the wide width of the deck when the extensions are out. All Marathon decks come with lighting that meets DOT requirements.

Thanks, but it still seems as it is the decision of the dot or rcmp as to what they feel like when they stop you as to where the lights should be,small town cops sure have BIG heads(just outa school maybe)

i know that commercially, the load can't extend past the last axle, more than 1/3 of the entire load, without a permit.what you really need to do for a sled deck,is during daylight hrs,put a flag to show an extended load,at night, put a magnetic light(red only) on the back of the sled,as it would be the longest overhang.

princess auto sells the lights, but kinda' junkie.I always purchase a stronger magnet,an attach with resin glue(strong).Just make sure you don't glue the battery cover to the rest of the light backing,or it'll be a disposable light when the battery's die.
