Is this machine worth $7000?

R.K. Tech 827 Kit, Engine Tech head, Team roller secondary clutch, Primary rebuilt last season, Quick clickers on primary, Vforce 3 reeds, Dyno port Y-pipe, Dyno port single tuned pipe, MBRP ceramic coated can, Electric Start, Koso dual screen digitron, vent pre filter kit, Clutch vent kit, Tunnel stiffeners, Ice scratchers, Skid plate, Team x cover, Jerry can, Brp rear storage bag, push botton reverse, 151x16x2.25 powder max track new last season. All engine work was done last december at mountain magic in Edmonton.

RKT specializes in heads....so I'd be leary that it's an RKT big bore....maybe his pistons.

Looks like an 07(looking at tail light and bumper)....has the crank been replaced? If not....I wouldn't touch it.

Sled has 3300km on it 700km on all the new stuff.

Sled has 3300km on it 700km on all the new stuff.

I would not say its a steal but if you like all the goodies and the previous owner has taken good care of it I would think you are in line around that $6600 to $6900 marker based on whats out there. and the 2006 was a good year.

Well its actually a trade for a 2007 yfz450 plus 1000 cash.

What is done to your quad? and what kind of shape? Remember it is spring time around the corner, quad worth top dollar, and sled worth top dollar less 1000-1500 = end of season.

Oh how I long to steal the plastics off your sled...

The above sled is indeed a 06 X like mine. At least it has the new 07 seat and tailight/bumper. Ugly wheels also match.

Most 827 kits come with an RKT head. Best way to tell would be go there with a boroscope and look if the engines ported. If you pulled the pipe the pistons will be duel ringed also. That motor pulls strong. The sled would be a good deal in my mind considering the big bore is $2700 and the rest of the add ons are worth atleast another $2500.

very true. except you can get the 827 non ported. and yes these motors haul.

i would say thats a fair price for that sled with those mods. looks very clean...

but yah curious about the engine tech head.

He just put a Engine tech on for higher compression ratio.

If it runs good tommorow then its a trade.

if it runs good, you like the looks, and is in overall great condition, no tunnel or frame damage, then it's up to you. not liking the engine teck head, rktech makes higher compression heads, you may have a tuning nitemare. it's your money, don't let emotions make the decision for you.
if it has not been looked after, stay away. or running rite.

Talk to mountain magic about the sled and get there opinion on the condition of it. 3300km is not too bad but i can almost gaurantee that the front A arm bushings and spindle bushings are becoming warn out. They have done quite a few 827 and i had the RK drop in kit (pistons and head) and thought i had a tuning nightmare on my hands but a little clutch cleaning was all i needed and the sled rips.

those bushings come to a total of 36$ i wouldnt worry about that.

the 827 is not a tuning nightmare ihavent had one not work yet with minimal tuning.

the biggest problem on this sled will be the team secondary ( mountain junk )

and trying to make the ET head work with rkts porting and big bore.

considering you cant use kelseys specifications your on your own for jetting...not that its hard but cant just pull and go unless he already has it setup

I am trading for this sled to turn around and sell it for $6000 that way i get what i want out of my quad. which is $5000 i dont think i should have any problems getting 6k out of that sled, it was aparently all done a mountain magic including tuning so it should be setup. Ill find out tonight if it runs good.

See how it runs and do not believe anything you hear. 700 kms is 7 rides in 1.25 yrs, he has not spent a lot of time on the seat IMO with those #'s, for all you know it could be 3.5 rides since the motor work and maybe he doesn't like tuning it. Lots of these sleds out there, don't be in a rush to buy a lemon. You can buy an 07 M8/Summit 800 with upgrades for $6000-6500 (in the classifieds right now).

Definitely. He says he is selling it cause he just bought a 2010 yamaha with a stage 3 turbo.
