Looking for the best prices around for truck insurance. Being a young driver, it's ridiculously expensive for insurance, but some places want a lot more than others....

Also want a company that works with sleds and that sort of deal.

Thanks.

I was with Wawanesa Insurance for years and got great rates from age 16-24, I've recently switched to a group insurance company through work but with Wawanesa I was paying between 1300-1600/year depending on the vehicle, and with plpd on the bikes I was paying 230/year for both of them.

My boyfriend was thru a different insurance company when we first met and was paying about 3000+/year for insurance, eventually I got him a quote thru Wawanesa and he switched because they got his rate down to $1400/year.....

good luck

Im a youngin and pay 1400 a year for plpd. Thought about getting a newer pickup this spring. Cooperators quoted me 6500 a year for a 2010 half ton 4x4... Needless to say I still drive an old truck

Thats a scam, unless you have had quite a few collisions and tickets.

I'm switching cuz I'm roughly 4000/yr on a '08 half ton 4x4, and yet my friends are on '05-'07 half ton 4x4's and are getting much better rates than me.

Sorry fellas but until you turn 25 or get married you are kinda hooped. My son who didn't want to listen had a couple of accidents and a(idiot)DUI cant even touch insurance for under 600 bucks a month. He has to wait another year and essentially start over to get a better rate. So for any of you young bucks who want to drive like nutbars just remember the insurance comps have you over a barrel and they don't use lube!

Under your parents it's way cheaper and no I have a clean record. A 2wd was 1500 cheaper also engine size matters. This was for full coverage (comprehensive?) and was the same at wawanesa.

Wawanesa second to none. You have an office in Mundare or Tofield.

im 26 and my insurance is still high with no accidents or tickets. that 25 thing is bs. the trick is to have your place of residence on an acreage, saves you 1000-1500 a year compared to in the city. or get a sask address and get their insurance

i had to get insurance for my two daughters. because we do not live in the city, we got it cheaper. but was told that if the girls move to the city then it would go up. was told that we are lucky to be living where we are, and we don't live on an acreage or farm

25 thing is only good if you have a clean driving record. 26 here, paying 2600/yr for an 03 f250.
Mind you, I'm in BC so there is no competition.

Thats almost stupid, cuz at the end of the day the driver hasn't changed. If Its 50/50 with my parents, shouldn't it be the same cuz I'm still the primary driver?

And thats also funny cuz my buddies all have 5.7L Rams and I got a 5.3L Chevy. I got a clean record too and not too sure why I gotta pay more... Must be that damn Monster sticker on the back window... :d

Thats why I'm looking for a new company.

I'm paying 2000/year roughly off by 20 bucks. No collisions or tickets after a year of driving. Just plpd on a '99 intrigue. My mom used to work at state farm and seems to think she gets the best rates. What a load. I got a '94 chevy silverado 6.5dsl and I'm going to shop around now instead. I drive like a regular person to, no sense wasting gas to get somewheres a couple seconds earlier.

How did you guys get 1400/year? I do live in the city how ever.

Well If you are under your parents name you may get a break on insurance but guess who takes a big hit on premiums when there youngin writes off a 35 000$ truck. might not be a big deal for some but some people own businesses or farms and that could be bad.

As far as different insurance companies unless there is a HUGE difference in price, I would probably stick with a big name like wawaneesa or coop
