I disagree switching companies is a wise decsion. Lots of guys I know went to Texas during 2019, and when covid hit they were the first to get laid off and had to come beg for their job back. There are guys going again to Texas (drilling consultants) for 1200 USD a day but to me that is hoping there isn't another recession. Making 1000 Canadian a day is good enough with the job security knowing a guy will work through a recession
Id rather be unemployed in texas then unemployed here lol

Sail boat in the Caribbean

A Friend of mine did that for 3 years with his wife. Experience of a life time no doubt.

But they had some near death experiences too. Guess the storms can get pretty crazy out there.

Most of the people I work with that dont live in their home country either live in Spain or Thailand. Spain seems like a good option and one I have considered. I work with some Croatians and cost of housing over there has gone up 30-40% in the past few years, looks really nice though, mountains for skiing/sledding and Mediterranean for warm beach. We also looked to moving down to the states, for me with my job it would be easy. But for the wife and kids staying full time turns into a lot more work.

Know a guy that just moved to Panama. He says where he is it's 20 degrees all year. Sounds pretty good to me. Probably humid as hell I guess.
This is Likely boquete, this area is the sweet spot. Not to humid due to the high altitude and mixed rainfalls. Kinda like the kootenays lol. I’m back their in a few months. Going to hang out there for a while this time, like to do a 6 and 6 month. Less Trudeau, happier me.
This can work because Im seeking a resident visa. Been traveling to Thailand,Bali, Cambodia lately, very affordable and a great place to hang your hat but the dam jet lag wipes me out for like 3-4 days.
this is Thai, Bali, Panama, costa rica and volcano surfing in Nicaragua….great sunsets in bocas too.

Most of the places mentioned would be great for retirement. Belize is another one I've been looking at. English speaking. Cheaper and not as developed as Costa Rico, but maybe a bit more unstable 🤷‍♂️ There offshore banking has some really good reviews lately. But most of these retirement areas don't really leave much on the table for kids futures I'm thinking. Just me and the missus is one thing, but it's where to go that gives the kids some options for the future.......

It's been a very popular way of life since covid BS started.

I met a retired couple this summer up in the Yukon, they sold everything bought a boat and rv. When hurricane season gets close they insure the chit out of the boat and put it in storage and jump in the motor home and tour.. once hurricane season is over its back to the boat.

I gotta say it is very cowardly for Canadians to just up and leave. What a topic on whats supposed to be a day of remembering.

Stand up for what you belive in and where your from. Don't be a coward. Our veterans would be rolling over in there Graves. Grow some balls

Are you calling your ancestors cowards for leaving their country of origin and coming to Canada? I think it takes a lot of courage to pack everything up and try something new.

You have to remember our veterans fought other countries to protect our way of life, never before has our own country turned against us. Our ancestors left their home countries for a better life because their countries were turning against them and a lack of opportunity. Canada does not lack opportunity, however at current rates of government oversight how long before those opportunities become property of the state?

Do what you have to to protect your families. Military aged men stay and fight. I sadly think our country has been against us for some time. Just only recently it's out in the open

French riviera is real nice too. And bonus points because the d-day invasion was in france.

There was no fighting in Canada. No one was fighting for Canadas freedom in any WW...
