If you had $4500 to buy a new sled what would you look at.

km are tough to make a decision on.
Need to know what work has and hasn't been done and what the sleds common issues are.
A low mile sled not taken care of scares me more than high km's.
Lots of issues can be hid from low experienced buyer, a knowledgeable individual that matter also.
Take an experienced buddy to keep your mind focused. Excitement of new toy purchases can make you "drunk" and make poor decisions.
Pick a sled then post the details for extra specific advise

Hello, Looking for another to buy another sled in a couple days. My budget is $4500, I don't ride in the mountains but like trails and jumping drifts a lot. Looking for some thoughts what to get and stay away from, I do like the the f7 tho. Thanks Brian

We recently sold one of our 2003 F7's. It is one of the bestest fastest funnest sleds you will find for your riding. Ditch banging, jumping drifts, trails, lake racing, etc are where this sled shines! 13.5"x128 track makes it a nimble & FAST.
The 2003 model year of Firecats were known to be the quickest....after that Cat changed the mapping in the controller and they lacked the spark the 2003's had.

Great sled well set up and may be hard to find

I like the longer tracks but maybe you will want a 151

I would say if you are just getting one sled for the household go for a crossover with low miles. Would not get a short track or a long track unless you are not going to mixyour riding terrain.
Last year I picked up a 2001 Summit 700 X 144 with 455km for $3900. No a scratch or scuff anywhere, came with tarp, belt, reverse and electric start. With the snow this year the sellers on kijiji have lost their minds and everything is about $1000 higher. Only reason I paid $3900 for a 12 year old sled was the low miles and condition. Prices are just rediculous and some are just junkers!
Need to wait another 6 weeks and there will be deals again.

2008 XP stock had some history with crank issues I can't remember the details, 2009+ were a bit more reliable
