got everything out of the way! just need to know how to get the air intake boot off and out of the way of the carbs? any suggestions would be appreciated!!
how to change reeds on 09 m8???

Did reeds on my '10 a couple years back. Prettys sure the intake boot wont come out, just push it as far to the front of the sled as you can.

the intake boot will come out it just takes a little working but it does come out.

from what iv read online, aftermarket reeds arent improving much of anything on the 800s. what kind of gains are you guys seeing?

Reeds by themselves don't help much - a little better throttle response off bottom. Done with other mods (porting, headwork, pipe and intake) - they are a bit more efficient. I for one will not use V-force due to poor longevity (one season), and use boyesen's rage cages on both the M8 and M1000. The stock reeds work quite well on the laydown twins, and are hard to improve upon imho.
