I run 6000K and love them.....when it flickers on start up and wont stay on it is usually the ballast. I always keep a spare one in the truck! just used my spare one last week so have to get another spare lol. common problem.

i have the sylvania silverstar ultra lights and they are just as bright as hids and fit into the stock headlights. and i drive 25000 kms a year in the dark

I had these same lights before I went to my 5000K HID's and there is no comparison whatsoever. The sylvania's sit in my center console just incase something happens it would take me about 5 minutes to switch them over to stock lighting again. The HID's fit perfectly into the stock headlights as well. Just received my kit for my highbeams. Have had my HID's for almost a year now and have never been flashed once.

get rid of the kit trust me I just took mine and a buddies HID kit from Beamerz in edmonton out cause they were crap I replaced the connections on the wire to battery atleast 5 times this year cause it kept getting slightly corroded and would break making me have no lights or they would freeze up in the cold and leave you stranded in the staging area for an hour or more while they heated back up yes they put out amazing light so what I did was bought a pair of RIGID INDUSTRIES HID 6000 k bulbs and junked my hid kit and then put 2-6'' led lights and a single 10'' led light behind my grille and dear lord does that ever light up the night! but yes scrap the hid w/ballast kit and get a good set of vision x or rigid industries hid bulbs they are way better and less hassle and way cleaner no wires running all over to hook up ballasts

Explain to me how you get a real or true hid bulb without a ballast as its the ballast that steps up the voltage to fire the bulb. And if your a rigid dealer, pm me a price on a 10" amber bar please.

I've been running a VVME cheap hid kit from china for almost two years now with absolutly no problems except a very slight flicker in one bulb only when I spin the rear tires on ice or snow.

there built by rigid with no ballasts they are not quite as brite as a true hid w/ballast but hey i'll take a tiny bit dimmer bulb rather than having mine flicker on and off or not light at all!!! I'm not sure how they do it without the ballasts but seriously they are virtually as bright as my HID kit but witout the hassle. I will dig up some prices here real soon for you on the 10'' amber series my 10'' e series is flippin bright I love the thing.

I have all 55Watt digital kits for my Headlights and Fog lights in my Mustang(5000K), Hi and Low beam in my GMC(5000K) and bought a set for my Aunts Miata(4300K) and have not had any issues yet. All of them were from Retro-Solutions. There are cheaper kits out there but I have had a few guys at specialty shops tell me these are excellent kits with quality materials!

custom HID conversions, HID kits, LED, CCFL specialists - retrosolutions

Have y'all disabled the auto-lights function on your truck? When you start your truck you turn the lights on ( ACC key position ) then off ( when starting ) then back on when running. Very hard on HID's to go on-off -on like that.

Thats what I read anyways, I disabled the auto lights on mine when I put HID's in about 60k km ago and no problems.

I also read that 90% of all HID's are made in the same factory...... who knows. I paid about $80/ pair shipped from HQZ4321 and am still happy.

Really can't beat the light output and it also seems like long night time drives are easier on the eyes now.
