We're thinking of heading into Gorman this Sunday to poke around. Probably not go past the lake. Anyone been in yet? Trail condition? thanks!

parked at km11..trail is great...more snow as u get higher. Just went past the lake about a 100 yards..bad light and clouds moving in stopped me. Lucky bastards whomever gets to rip up the terrain on the next sunny day..

they were taken on my phone (5Meg camera)
light conditions sucked...so pics aren't that great
if the clouds didn't move in
i would have gone to the top
sorry i didn't pull out the probe and measure snow depth
my bad...fail
then again....I drove 5 hours to check it out

the guys who went in b4 me did a great job making/breaking trail
but the stopped at the far side of the lake
i just went a bit further...base was good...
but clouds held me at bay

From your previous pics and another report I heard, it needs a ton more snow before I will be venturing in there. First climb looks like a war zone....and the creek at the west end is still open. Big avy's in there early season too, just FYI if you don't know the area.

Yes me and a couple buddies rode there one day this last weekend. There was lots of powder but it was still lacking about 4-5 feet to cover up the rocks and small trees.

So we took a blast up here. In general gorman could use another 3-5ft if snow. Why the club is asking to park at 3km is weird considering it is snow/gravel off the start. Snow picks up at 7km. There us good deep snow to be had if you know where to look. Made it to the park boundary on the top 3tiers. As well were probably the first to break into holts this year. The trees defibateky had snow to play in. Sunny day on Saturday. Waterfall in Lang was a good run. Should be decent in a couple weekends.
