Fuel Pump Noise

Does anybody else have a noisy fuel pump in their 16 axys (800 163)? I have lots of riding friends with pros and all of their pumps are quiet, as is another friends axys. Sled runs fine and pressure is good but the whine is bothersome. Dealer replaced pump before last ride but still is noisy.

mine on a couple occasions got loud and then after awhile shut off returned to normal.. usually a loud pump is a dying pump IME

That's what I was told as well is that a loud pump could be on its way out or is labouring to move fuel.


Have you looked at the fuel filter to make sure its not partially plugged.

Really!...I guess I really dont know but with all the plugged ones from the previous machines that sounds risky.

I looked it up and your right, there is no fuel filter. Man that just seems risky. Fuel pick up is different so maybe it has a finer mesh.

Mine and my friends Pros had the pumps get real noisy on a spring ride when the fuel tanks got really warm. After some time at altitude in good snow everything went back to normal.
