I always have used the oem ones. Can usually get good deal on them at dealers if you buy 4 at a time.

I have been using Donaldson fuel and oil filters on my dirtymax and Shell T6 for oil since after break in.Donaldson is one of the better filters out there IMO

OEM are pretty darn cheap, can't remember the exact number but it was low enough that I didn't even bother looking around...

There's four layers of filtration in the OEM.

AC Delco or buy an adapter to switch over to a Cat 1R-0750. The 50 is only about $25-30 from Finning and is a 2 micron. Just as good as the $50 or $60 or whatever it is AC Delco. If you get one, clean the factory filter head good where the threads are and put a little red loctite on them when you screw it together. That way when you change the filter you won't spin off the adapter. Works great!

Pretty sure I got my AC Delco's for under $20. I was expecting way higher, maybe they made a mistake?

You better do your homework.... Racor/Parker and ac delco are identical filters... Wix filters have better filtration in the material, and the filtration media is crimped & glued, where as the delco is only glued.....

Please prove your statement, as I'm very interested in what you've said. We try to use only the best filters where possible, in our shop.

I would say yes.
Even online at US prices they are at least $30US for a Racor. Last time I bought one from GM it was at least $50.

The Wix among others are not a good filter and yes has been known to bypass on occasion. Lots run them and don't have issues but I wouldn't risk it. Especially if you are taking fuel off a rig or out of a slip or above ground tank. An extra couple hundred over 5-8 years is worth more to me than a new CP3 and/or injectors after 2 or 3. People don't realize how sensitive the common rail fuel system is to contamination that can't be seen by the naked eye.

I would recommend CAT, Donaldson or the OEM/Racor. The Baldwin is also a decent filter.

I know it's not gm but the wix filter does not meet the spec for cummins and dodge has Denined warranty
costing the owner thousands for a new fuel system ( wix did not stand behind there product either even though they said it met spec) not always worrying saving a few bucks on a filter

Racor/AC Delco/OEM is far superior just based on micron rating alone. Wix can't even supply full specs on their site. The plastic WIX filter has been prone to leaking also. I would NEVER run a plastic fuel filter ever except on my slip tank.
