Riding Silent Pass tomorrow (Friday). Will post conditions when I get home late Friday night. I am tempted to go into Silver Mines but have never been there so maybe next year with a guide.

Get on the glaciers if you can. The snow stayed more refrigerated last weekend and was deep on the ice. As soon as you got off the ice it was about half to a third less from the warming. I bet Silent glacier would be dynamite. Syncline was dope but the heli wasn't too stoked.... As well any more info on Bush road? Need to get up to the Columbia and Clemenceau in the immediate future!!!! Its time to hit the high country!!!!

Silent Pass is a skating rink - rock hard snow:mad: The trail in was half melted and half full snow coverage. The snow covered trail was rock hard as well so I could easily drive to the 45 km mark just before McMurdo bridge. It was a little softer late afternoon but an easy drive out. The pictures below are from the 21, 24, 27, and 41 km markers.

I took a drive up the Silver Mines road. Easy access to the 39km. A truck-trailer was parked there. Hope the conditions were better.

Talked to a group of skiers at the McMurdo cabin. They came in from the Bugaboos - same rock hard condtions there too.

Carbon-you ever been into the Esplanades? What branch do you need to take?

We tried everything past the first 2 branches on the W.C. FSR with no luck. Is it the first 2 branches? They join together and look like they get close to the alpine on the map.

Do you need to go in from Heather mtn. Lodge?

Thanks.

Hey Carbon - Thinking of heading out for a Saturday rip. Which area would be best? I am itching to head up Silver Mines but have never been there. Any advise would be appreciated.

I love Silent Pass but the conditions were rock hard snow last weekend. Driving to the 45Km was nice though.

I would not advise it if you havn't been in before, unless you're with someone who has.

With temps around 20 the new snow will be sliding in the afternoon. Big terrain trap all the way in.

Couple of creeks to cross also once you hit the meadow.

just went to look. snow is softening up but there is some sun crust+balling snow leading me to believe its getting heavier .tomorrow will be good.as for silver mines. I don't like to tell people not to go.but its higher risk!(but still can ride there) I haven't been back there in 2+weeks so not sure what AVA ally looks like. snow would be good for sure in glaciers.if you where to go I'd leave early morning(before 10am )and wouldn't come out until sun was down.6-8pm.

Johni-t forcast it really unsettled calling for 14c and rain for sunday-tues.tomorrow is best day for next 5:d:beer: let me know as far as riding its been good going all the way to old man.........and all between

fueled and ready ALWAYS

About 3 inches of new at Silent Pass Sunday. A great day to do some exploring. Found some good snow and great terrain. Had a blast. Awesome for May 3rd.:d:d

Partly cloudy til about 2PM then blue bird. Snow really softened up around 4PM. Had so much fun I did not head back until 8PM.

Unloaded at 46Km just past McMurdo Bridge. Drive in mostly bare except for 33Km to 36Km.

Rode Boulder Mtn in Revy on Saturday and not near as good a Silent.
