I have brought back to life an XLT that was sitting forxa long time. Carbs are clean. New pickup line. New needles and seats. Chokes adjusted. It runs like a top.
But im missing 1000 rpm. It only sustains 7100 rpm. I cleaned the clutches and everything is smooth and free, but i replaced the springs based on the recommendation from some kid at the local sled parts store who called his dad and asked him what springs i should use.
Its gotta be wrong.
Heres my setup:
White 125-280lb EPI primary spring.
10M/5 weights.
Silver/Blue Polaris secondary spring in slot #3
Ive adjusted belt height from 1 to 5 with little effect.
Where did i go wrong?
