yup and a good thing too, these guys will get to the bottom of this problem quickly, may argue over the solution a bit, but that's another story! all good on the good ship lollipop.

I would think the us would seize the ship, all goods on boards and go after the insurance.

insurance 44mil, ship value 44mil, cargo on board 10m+ ? estimated cost o bridge repair 1.5 to 3 billion! oh boy this is going to be a long process

I haven't read up on this situation. But I did watch a video on a ship disaster is year 1910, roughly. Back then, the liability the ship's owner could be held liable for was LIMTED to the value of the SHIP, AFTER it was salvaged. So a sunk ship, that the owner has to pay to recover, is basically worthless, meaning anyone suing the company can only be awarded the value of the worthless ship (i.e. basically zero dollars).
