I need to get a beacon, but am not sure what the best ones are. Reliability and ease of use are probably the most important features. I sure would appretiate any advice.

Get a Backcountry Access Tracker. They are the simplist out there and are very fast. For most multiple burials are not an issue(most multi burials in the field are so confusing for the average person in a state of panic that most will perish, not happy thoughts but are the facts) so simplist is most important. Obviously practice lots and take an avy course. Happy Winter to ya...

I use the Mammot/Barryvox pulse. Have had SOS for a few years and used different types at my AST level 1 course. This is the one that I found to be the best for me. Hope this helps.

Same beacon and love it.

Don't go cheap, and don't go analog unless you thoroughly know how to use it and practice a lot!
