i saw this ad on kijiji, 2011 Pro RMK,163. 92 miles on the unit. The guy hit a rock on his second ride and now is selling the sled for $5 grand, the bulk head is bent and the a-arms need to be replaced. Should i buy it and repair it? do you think it will be worth it? Will the price of parts kill me? i'd do all the work over the summer so labour is not a proble. im a mechanical guy so im not worried about the project just wondering if droping 5 g's on a wrecked mechine is worth it. any in put it is apprechiated! link below.

price the bulk head and major parts from a dealer or online. if they are reasonable, do it

My buddy just rebuilt his 11 renegade back country X that he wrote off.. was worth while for him

Dont waste your time if its written off its guna need a boatload of work and chances are its not something your average guy will be able to do in the garage on the weekend.

bent tunnel/twisted bulk head who knows could of ran it back down with coolant leaking and not knowing (or known the sled would be written off anyways) never know these things.

--if the shocks and spindals/a-arms look decent that means the impact of the crash manifested ifs self else where to.

oh yea and about 70 rivets and perfect alighment ....Ask travvy D im pretty sure i paid someone to line up the tunnel on his 700 polaris mod he had a few years ago

Enjoy the 8 you already have and know will get you back to the truck.

I would bet the bulkhead is a pricey piece, the chaincase and structural components are all cast into the bulkhead as one unit.

Here is break down of every Nut Bolt Washer for the Bulkhead assy, Including Glue........

..................Total: $811.75

that list is a lot of nuts and bolts, for $800. $195 for a 50 mL tube of glue......

Here are a lot of the other parts you will probably need. If he bent only the front upper bulkhead it won't be as bad, but if he bent the upper tubes, and the lower bulkhead and tunnel in anyway, its going to get expensive......notice that the substructure (all one piece) is going to run you $1600 for the 163" chassis alone, upper tubes are $250, etc etc. adds up quick. I'm betting he's dumping it with 92 miles and $5K for a reason.

1 1016954 ASM-FRAME TUBULAR FRONT, RMK $147.59

if you didnt write it off i would stay away, i wrote my m8 off on my 4th ride, bulkhead was bent so bad the primary was pushed up against it so the motor wouldnt even turn......ended up doing bulkhead, all 4 a arms, left shock, left ski, hood, and some other stuff.....cost me just under 5 grand to get a dealer to do it. could have done it myself for probably 3500, and that was with fixing my hood and buying a used bulkhead.

Definitely can get expensive once you start digging into it. Some times you get lucky and its less than expected.
