GVWR of that Toy Hauler is 18,000 lbs. That hitch is not heavy enough, good eye boost...

That was not mentioned in the article, but should the Dealer who sold him both pieces then not be responsible?

F350 CC LB single tire is only rated 15,500 and only 3500 on the pin.
I bet that trailer is 5000 on the pin.

Someone from here should contact the trouble shooter and point these facts out. Maybe then they can run an update on the story.....

i dont think so

Hey Kim...is that you in the trouble shooter video? What is the GVWR of a triple axle toy hauler with 3 X 6000# axles? How much is an 06 F-350 rated to tow? Is a 16K hitch enough to tow that 5th?

why???????????????

Have a look at Fords Towing cap

chart.....2009 Ford Super Duty Towing Capacity | The Official Site of the 2009 Ford Super Duty | FordVehicles.com

If your running a F350 CC SRW Diesel 4WD the 5th Wheel Towing cap is 15,300 lbs with the standard 4:10 rear end, if you ordered the 4:30 rear end it increases to 17,700 but wow would the fuel mileage suck with that rear end....

The Fords offer the most options for weight carring variations, so check the lable on your truck, then go look at the payload chart....The trailer towing cap dosent increase with the DRW but the payload of the truck sure does. Depending on the wheel base and GVWR of your truck it will vary any where from approx 4000 lbs for the SRW to 5,000 lbs for the DRW but the DRW is way more stable....

Dosent matter which brand you buy there all close to the same range....thats why a lot of the service bodies that you used to see on F30 went to F450 and now there not even enough and were having to go to F550 in order to carry anything other than tools....

Have a look at the chart, these trucks can and a lot of times do carry alot more weight than this, but it is legal as per the Manuafctures specs.....

The risk is that in an accident if your insurance company discoveres you were over weight they could void coverge, you could be stopped and have to arrange a different truck to haul your trailer home...the odds of it hurting the truck.....Not likely

except most of new superduty trucks with the diesel motor came with 3.73 gears and now in 09 they are comming with 3.55 gears to try and help with the fuel mileage
i think only the V10 comes with stock 4.10 gearing

ha, no its not me, and no they are not 6000 lb axles, and they should be 5200lb with 15inch tires but mine says 5080 per axle. GVWR should be 15500lbs not 18000lbs a 350 is rated at 11400 lbs GVW and i dont have the truck here wife has it in saskatchewan but it is around 24500lbs combined weight roughly and i dont have a 16000lb hitch i have a 20000lb hitch but he can get by with it i pulled mine with a17000 lb hitch with no problems except tough to hook up so i bought a new one when i bought a new truck a year ago.........hitch weight i think is 2800lbs and i think the ford is good for 3600lbs........
