2008 XP with 3200? To many Km's?

I believe 08' has the same motor as the 07' (800r) and it was first model year for the XP.

There were some that had issues but lots that didnt.

dammit. i dont like that fact... but one thing i noticed about the 07 engine is that if they blew they blew right away. after 3200 i think it might be a good one.

any motor that has gone 3000 km should not blow up, lots of miss info out there. every skidoo motor from 07 on 800 must have the iso flex grease checked behind the crank end seal behind the clutch at least yearly. 08 or 010. early sleds had some heat retention issues, and thus forced the grease from behind the seal. bearings with out grease usually seize. if you check for oily, greassy residue behind the primary clutch you will know when new grease is needed.
otherwise get on and ride her.

Mileage used to be my first and only deciding factor, and while I still consider it, it's not the only factor when sled shopping for me.

I have just shy of 9000 on my 07 600...time for a top end but these last longer than the 8's...we put avg 3000 kms per year of mountain riding- if you saw my sled it looks darn near new, no exaggeration! Maintenance and upkeep is key, not necessarily mileage. It's 'lady driven' ;) If a sled had a 300 pounder putting those kms on it would sure have more overall wear than one with a buck 20 on it :p Other things to consider other than mileage.

Hubby has 11,000km on his 06X, engine done once. His also looks and rides like new. If parts are replaced and upgraded and the sled is maintained, mileage sometimes isn't the end all be all...you can get a sled with less kms and have more trouble and put more money into it. I'd take his 06x over an 07 or 08 sled, hands down...all 11,000 kms of it :beer:

The 07's don't seem to all blow at low kms, I wouldn't feel any better with one with 3000kms than one with 3 kms...riding a ticking timebomb IMO. ;)

In close to 20,000 kms we've put on as a couple in 3 years we have never been left on the trail due to mechanical failure! Once a track ripped off and we towed out, other than that not an issue. Add our riding buddy to that with his 10,000 kms and no failures...that's 30,000 hassle free kms! :cool:

Hubby's sled has had the engine done twice, I bought the sled with 2600km on the sled but only 150km on a new short block, then put on 6300km:eek: on that engine before sending it to Terra Alps Racing for a complete rebuild with some porting and a new head it has 2500km on the rebuild and going stronger than ever!!!

I must agree, we have seen those engines go after 3000km and its always the crank.:(

Maintanace is the key, LOVE THY SLED AND IT WILL LOVE YOU BACK!! I would never say that it is cheaper to maintain a high mileage sled rather than upgrading to a newer model, but I love my sled and there isnt anything out there yet (e-tec 800r??) that I would rather be riding. :shrug:
Things are very tuff around here in the winter, nothing to doo but wait for fresh pow.:d

ya i believe the sled looks to be in great condition and well taken care of. thanks for all the help guys and i know what you mean. i am one to baby my mechines, sure i hold it to the bar and give it all its got but i maintain what ever i have. ill see how this sled looks in the week and let ya guys know

same graphics eh lol personally if i get the sled i will be taking them off.....i hate yellow and most colours being colour blind as hell. black works for me :)

good luck on the sled. have your compression checked and maybe have the primary clutch pulled, put in new engine seal and a table spoon of iso grease, you should be good to go. :beer:

i paid 6500 for mine last year with a brand new warrented motor and all 09 clutching updates,with alot of extras.oh ya first motor grenaded at 3000-3100 k,

what you do take out the crank? no grease?
