I'm trying to help a buddy who's 2008 M800 gets to about 40mph (he didn't know what RPM) and would over Rev. I wasn't around when it was happening so I don't know much for detail but what he told me. I suspect one of the clutches. You guys have any ideas. Exhaust valves??

How old is the belt? Put a newer one on and see if it's doing the same thing.

How does he know its over reving if he does not know the rpm.....

It won't rev past 7000 if exhaust valve Are not opening

Secondary to tight would do it

I wonder if his secondary is binding. Thanks for the info on the exhaust valves. I wasn't sure what would happen if they became inoperative.

The sled doesn't rev out, it likely won't get past 6500 rpm, definitely won't be "over reving".
