2002 rmk sounds like ratcheting

my roomate just got a 2002 rmk 700 144 with mech reverse. when you give it gas it sounds like the track is sliping and gets louder, when you grab the brake the noise goes away, track is very tight and i just changed the chain case fluid and tighened it. it was pretty loose any thing else i should look at?

Try a new drive belt. Maybe the one on there has been damaged.
