Any good merc mechanics out there??? My 70 only runs on 2 cylinders unless it is really warmed up. Everytime i try it it wont make enough power to get up on plane, unless it is really warmed up. Tested coils <good> compression 100 all three cyl ,checked and cleaned carbs. Changed plugs many times now. My local dealer says it is likely the CDI < $ 300.00 ouch>.I have a tough time believing it is the CDI. Seems strange to be electrical when it works better when hot. Any issues i,ve had before showewd up with heat ,not got better.

Any ideas???? Thanks guys.

iBoats.com is a HUGE forum for boats. just pay attention to the stickies otherwise the hardcore users kinda get annoyed. ex: always include make, year, hp, kind of boat etc when asking for help.

heat can do all sorts of things, ive seen problems come and go with heat a few times at work, Them computers are expensive, but i'd rather buy one new an it be the right part from a dealer than a possible nfg part off a website, Just my two cents
