hey just got this a while back and get intermitten spark. replaced external ignition coil because it was shot and still nothing any ideas?

I think that in 82 they switched from points to CDI. I had an 81, and I think that it was the last year for the points. It was also the last year for the premix too. That sled took a beating, and it had a ton of miles on it....

Reset the points while ur at it check point and condenser wires for shortenings and u should be good... Points timing .70-.45 btd at a generic .16 of a gap...
