Still trying to figure out a mid-range (5500-6500rpm) burble on my new-to-me sled that is really taking all the enjoyment out of it...

There is a timbersled intake on it and I've read that this will sometimes flow less air than the stock airbox. I feel like its running rich, I did a couple plug chops today between 3-5000ft and they were black both times. Oil consumption is close to 32-1.

Also the sled seems to run smoother in the midrange at lower elevation, and after I've stopped for a bit and let it cool down (like after checking the plugs).

I've checked and lubed the dpm solenoid, and made sure all dpm hoses are tight.

What I've found:
needle-stock (9egy2-58) clip#3 with shim
mains-460 (stock is 470?) so already leaned out?
pilots-17.5-stock
air screws 1.5 trurns out.

Forgot to add sled also has full spi exhaust.

Also checked carb boots and reeds, all is good there.

With the pipe and the pods shouldn't I be going up with the mains?

Does this mean I should be looking at the ecm?

Should I raise the clip on the needle just to see if it makes a difference, or does it seem like I should already be on the edge of too lean?

thanks.
