I know they are new, just curious to see how folks are liking them? I know some people really like the power claw and have even installed them on the other brands of sleds.

How is the new Polaris Series 8, 2.75" Track
I’ve had limited time on the 2021 sleds but the new series 8 track seems pretty good. I’ve found the Polaris 3” is junk for anything besides deep soft snow. I know that’s the ideal conditions everyone wants to ride in but not always what we get. The 3” just spins on any sort hard pack or firm spring snow. The 2.6” has been good (doesn’t fall apart or delaminate like the 3”) and has good traction so I’m hoping the 2.75 will be the best of both. Also it’s 3.5 pitch so that’s a plus I’d say

Actually when you get to the 174 the 3" actually works really good. It is a function of so many lugs spreads the traction so it is nothing like a 163 or 155 for spinning and is great for downhills on harder snow too. I hope the series 8 in a 165 is near as good.

Hey Teth Air, now that this thread is a year old, can you give me your comments on the 2.75. I am between a 165x2.75 and 155x2.75. Everything about my weight (165 before gear), riding style, ect says going to the 155 will be OK, however wondering how it keeps up to the bigger lug sleds on deep days. Wondering if I'll be disappointed on it coming from my 162x3 18 Cat, which has been an awesome sled and I throw around no problem

In the same situation coming from my 18 cat 162 3 inch and ordering a slash khaos 163 3 or 165 2.75" having a hard time deciding ?

If I were in your shoes between 163 and 165 it would be a 165x2.75 for sure. My issue is I want to go down to a 155, but a 155 x 2.75 seems like a far cry from my current sled. Decisions, decisions

The 2.75" series 8 works fantastic but the drivers can allow ratcheting if the track is not banjo tight. The traction is amazing and the track is way lighter than a Cat track. The 2022 version will be beefed and redesigned (possibly with outer nubs added for 2022) so if you want one maybe wait.

In talking to a few dealers, sounds like the 2022 have extroverts, so ratcheting and tension should be better and less of an issue. Looking at a few 2021's on Kijiji and leaning towards snow checking because of the updates. new chassis and 4 yr warranty.

The 165 2.75 is the best track on the snow right now.

Nothing official from anyone from Polaris on the driver changes or updates to the series 8.
That being said, the series 8 2.75 is impressive. It doesn’t hook up and push like a 3” Polaris series 7 but it grabs a larger scoop of snow and just keeps going when you think it shouldn’t. The difference in a 3.0” pitch and 3.5” is not a lot but it does increase the size of the bite the track takes and it doesn’t lack because it’s .25” less lug. In its current form it absolutely benefits from extroverts and a big wheel kit doesn’t hurt either.
As far as durability goes, the lug is a soft durometer, I have a few lugs sliced on mine but to be honest I put that sled into situations where the track was just chewing for minutes at a time non stop over little trees and sometimes worse and I feared it would look much worse. If they improve its durability and don’t lose its performance and doesn’t gain a bunch of weight it’s a win.

Just making the final selections on my snowcheck. Deciding between 2.75 series 8 and 3inch series 7 for my new Khaos Boost next year. Wondering if anyone has some real world feedback? Going 155.
I rode a Khaos boost 155 with 3 inch and loved everything about it. In theory the 2.75 should perform similar but I fear it stays more planted rather then the 3 which I found would flick up on demand (suspension dialed right in on that sled).
Right now I’m leaning toward 3 but having last minute second thoughts!!

3 inch is absolute trash.
You will hate that track especially on a 155"

Very heavy and trenches to China.
Riding buddies used to order the 2.5" until the 2.75 came along cause the 3" was that bad, unless they put.a new track on this year that I have not seen yet.
I like my 2.75 on my boost.
Does not trench and pulls strong.
Does not dig as hard as a Doo sled but then again Doos trench constantly.
165X2.75 does not trench and gets on top better than a doo, never had a Poo 3".

Went with the 2.75. If I want a three I’ll swap for a ski doo track but give this one a go. Got black on black with lime green rails and bumper. Excited for this thing to (hopefully) arrive in November!
