Not sure on that, but every sled I've had ran the loud versions of the mbrp's and lost rpm at WOT. Heard a lot of others guys talk about the same problem over the years. I picked up a trail version of the d&d can this year. I'm guessing it'll be a little more restrictive. That being said you do need to have some back pressure in the exhaust system. Find out once I get it on the snow I guess. haha.

even if it doesn't increase your HP it will lighten the load, which is almost the same thing. I cant remember what optimum power to weight is i think 4-1 or 3-1. anyways dropping 8-15 pounds can be a significant fat loss.

Keep it as quiet as you can. Take it from me through personal experience that hearing loss is caused by loud noise. Hearing aids are a nuisance.

I hear what you're saying, but I wonder if these skiers also complain about the helicopters carrying around Heli-skiers? They're a hell of a lot louder than a sled. Having said that, is there any documented proof, or such, that the loud MBRP can does cause some HP loss, or such. I didn't buy mine for the noise, I bought it for the weight savings. Who's the best expert in Edmonton area to ask? I'd like to know for sure, because I want the maximum HP and the weight savings, without getting louder. No use p#ssing off the neighbors if don't have to.

It was stated in a thread last year that the noise from the sleds does not seem to bother the caribou. they will turn and look then go back about thier business...

They will however run like hell from the choppers......
