Working on a 2015 backcountry with a 600 ETEC I am changing the oil tank it got smashed in from a rollover . Has anyone done this and do you need to prime the oil system after? Any help would be great . Thanks

Lots of guys take them to the dealer so BUDS can bleed the oil system but some guys fire it up and immediately put it into summerization mode to do something similar. Pick your risk tolerance

Good advise . Have you ever taken the oil tank out so far a lot has come off just to get at it for removal

Taking the fuel tank off will make life easier, also have a good look at the wiring that goes to the oil pump while you are in there, if there is a bad connection there it can make the sled go into warmup mode

If you are really worried mix the first tank of fuel 50:1 and see if the level goes down in the reservoir.

This will do nothing and is bad advise. Etecs are direct injected mixing oil with the gas is pointless as it will never see the crank or wrist pin bearings as fuel is injected above the pistons right before it is ignited with spark. all you are doing is burning extra oil in you combustion chamber for nothing. unless the op has a turbo and secondary injectors before the throttle bodies then they would see some extra oil to the crank and wrist pin bearings

upper and lower rod bearings are the only thing that would see extra oil from adding it to the fuel on a secondary injector setup like what you run on a turbo sled. in stock form mixing oil with the fuel will never hit any of the rotating assembly and is a waste of oil and time on a direct injected etec. also little known fact oil has a very low octane rating by burning large amounts of oil mixed in with you fuel you are actually lowering your octane rating of your fuel slightly
