Just throwing this out there, anybody interested in a day at Cataract, maybe take a stab at going over the pass? Would be leaving Calgary in the morning, ride till mid/late afternoon. Let me know via post here or PM if you prefer.
Might want to put the old skis back on while you're at it. lol. You will be hitting rocks..., but it's not all bad, lots of fun to be had, especially if you go over the pass, but I'd recommend going with somebody who's done it before.
You were on the wrong end of the highway, you need to access this area from the south end of HWY 40, you come in from Longview, then turn south at the road closure gates.
I was out for a ride yesterday. Does not look as nice as the above photos any more, but it sure was a nice day to be out in the mountains. Still plenty rideable on the upper trails, the trails out of the staging area are pretty thin and hard. A big thanks to the guys that gave me a lift back...
Well it looks like I need to replace one or both shocks in my rear suspension. I have the non-rebuildable shocks. Wondering if anybody knows where to get replacements for a good price? I'm not interested in stepping up to FOX floats or getting into big money, just a standard replacement...
I think it's the end of April. The pics don't show the thin snow you have to ride through to get over the pass. Even yesterday I hit plenty of rocks getting there, and that's the best I've ever seen it, usually you hit all of the rocks. A few warm days and the snow will be very thin at the top.
Did you guys get out this week? Any comment on the snow pack, is it melting fast?
I'm looking to head out this weekend, but wonder if the trails will be half dirt?
Well it was more like $20, but it did the trick.
It's a 5-terminal relay, its just above the secondary clutch, just reach under the cowling and you should find it.
Part # AR-143 at NAPA or 23-7066 at Canadian Tire.
I haven't gone for a ride yet, but it stopped acting up in the garage right...
The way I posted is shorter, but you might run into trespass issues around the mine when you follow that logging road down. And that 300m section could really be a deal breaker. Things look easy till you get there. That's why I thought I'd ask on here before I plan to take this on.
I'm...
This route looks promising, aside from the last 300m. Once you were in the clearcut, it should be easy from there. Should be...
Any of you guys been down this way?
I've been up over Fording Pass to the BC side before, has anyone rode from there down the valley to Elkford, then gassed up and come back? Seems like it would be a good adventure, might need to carry a bit of fuel.
I just did some reading up on DooTalk and apparently it's a relay that needs changing. Crappy tire for $6. I'll post more details when I get around to giving it a shot. A lot of guys there saying it's a good idea to carry a spare, can cause various electrical stuff to go out...
Similar thing happened to me when I bought my old sled a few years ago. First ride on my first sled, got 6kms up the mountain and pfft. Ended up replacing the crank and the pistons.
I called the seller and he basically told me to piss off. a-hole.
I bought a rebuilt crank and the pistons...
